This was the message of Vegetarian Action's 2004
Christmas public education campaign, designed to raise awareness
about the animal suffering which is the background to so many
human celebrations.
Our campaign flyer, featuring graphic images of the "animal
behind the meat", aimed to make people aware that the familiar
words for "meat" actually hide a real animal... and that
the animal has suffered intolerably on its way to your plate!
With so much Christmas advertising focussed purely on financial
savings, Vegetarian Action's flyer asked people to consider the
real cost of their actions, and save lives... as well as
dollars.
As our flyer said:
"This
Christmas,
save $$$...
& save lives!"
And went on to invite readers to:
