Special
guest Harley Johnstone with the ceremonial cake at the
Vegetarian Action launch
|
|
On 10th November 2004, Adelaide's newest meat-free force blasted
off with the launch of Vegetarian Action.
Vegetarian Action fuses a global perspective with a local
focus to promote vegetarianism as widely as possible as an
ethical, humane, healthy and ecologically sustainable way
of life - a key to the future, whichever way you look.
Special guest Harley Johnstone, vego ultra distance cyclist,
talked about the importance of vegetarianism and what it means
to him. He emphasised the importance of groups such as Vegetarian
Action in providing information, resources and support to
help people become and stay vegetarian. Harley wished Vegetarian
Action well.

Vegetarian Action representatives outlined Vegetarian Action's
philosophy - "Whichever way you look, the future is vegetarian"
- and its vision for an outwards-looking, active organisation
with a dynamic campaigns and projects orientation and a strong
focus on awareness raising and public education.
Guests relished the delicious vegan gourmet finger food prepared
by haut cuisine vego chef, Sprouts' Klaus Gutowski, sipped
champagne and fresh juices, and enjoyed the chance to meet
and chat with other vegos.
The night was a great success and set the example for innovative,
interesting future events from Vegetarian Action. Keep your
eye on this website for more!
