// On 26 July, 2006 Vegetarian Action held an informal get together & open forum focussed on the topic 'ACTING FOR CHANGE'.

Special guest Priya Subramanian was on hand to answer questions and share her experience

A short video, 'Not In My Name' set the tone for a lively discussion on change, activism, the psychology of public awareness and how both individuals and organisations like Vegetarian Action can contribute to creating change.

Special guest Priya Subramaniam, Save Babe! candidate for the recent state election, & member of new local Animal Protection Lawyers Association, spoke from personal experience about political and organisational activism.

Warmed and energised by homemade vegan soup with crusty bread and papadams, Vegetarian Action supporters and others interested in vegetarianism and animal rights contributed to a stimulating and productive discussion. The event helped Vegetarian Action set directions for future action and identify people interested in being involved, while those who attended enjoyed the chance to meet and talk with like-minded others and contribute to real activism for a vegetarian future.

// Next time, why not come along and have YOUR say?
