Walk Against Warming

Sunday 11th November 2007, from 1:00pm, Victoria Square to Elder Park

"Even though ordinary Aussies across the country are pitching in to reduce their own greenhouse gas emissions, this simply isn't enough to stop climate change globally. We need governments, industries and the community to work together so we can see real reductions in greenhouse gas emissions."

This was the message of Walk Against Warming, running for the second time in 2007 and especially crucial this year because of the upcoming Federal Election.

"MEAT = HEAT"

Vegetarian Action brought our own special message to the 2007 Walk Against Warming. With livestock ( raised almost entirely for food) contributing more to climate change globally than all forms of transport combined, climate change can't be stopped without serious consideration of the impact of diet.

We had banners, signs, and a couple of penguins to underline our message.

Vegetarian Action supporters and others who shared our concern turned out with enthusiasm to help us make our point.

To find out about future Vegetarian Action events and activities, and for the chance to involved, become a Vegetarian Action Supporter. Supporters are people who share our vision and support us financially to keep on doing what we do.
