Whichever way you look at it,
the answer is the same.
From any perspective, whatever it is you're concerned
about, the likelihood is that vegetarianism is part of the answer,
globally and locally. Globally, vegetarianism is an imperative
for the 21st century and beyond. Our survival - physical, moral,
spiritual - and the future of life (human and otherwise) on this
planet depend on a sea change in our attitude to the use of animals
for food.
Although it's not a magic wand to solve everything
(life isn't so easy!), vegetarianism remains one of the most concrete,
effective and accessible things YOU - as an individual - can do
to create change for a better future. While Vegetarian Action
and organisations like us work for large-scale shifts in public
attitudes towards vegetarianism (and please support
us if you'd like to be part of that), it's important not to
underestimate the impact that each individual makes through their
own daily choices - to thousands of animals; to water, land use
and the global availability of food; to your own health and the
social sustainability of our nation; to humanity's search for
higher understanding.
Whichever
way you look, the future is vegetarian..
